Terms of service
Last updated 26 September 2026
These terms cover the cleanboat single cleaning, the annual hull-cleaning plan and the cleanboat club, provided by Cleanboat Ltd. (“cleanboat”, “we”). By booking a cleaning or a plan you agree to them.
1. A single cleaning
A single cleaning covers one boat at one berth, on one date, and is paid once. It includes:
- one hull cleaning, carried out by drone from the pontoon, on the date you pick;
- a film of the hull, available in your account;
- notes on anything we see that is worth fixing, such as anodes, coating or propeller.
Nothing renews and nothing more is charged. Club membership comes with the annual plan, not with a single cleaning. You can book the annual plan at any time.
2. The annual plan
An annual plan covers one boat at one berth. It includes:
- five hull cleanings in the plan year, carried out by drone from the pontoon;
- a film of the hull after each cleaning, available in your account;
- notes on anything we see that is worth fixing, such as anodes, coating or propeller;
- membership of the cleanboat club while the plan is active.
You choose the first cleaning when you book. We schedule the other four 8 to 10 weeks apart, between March and November, and show every date in your account. You don’t need to be at the boat.
3. Price and payment
Prices are set by the boat’s length overall, include VAT and are shown in euros before you pay. Boats over 14 m and multihulls are quoted individually. You pay by card or by another method offered at checkout, such as MB WAY. A single cleaning is paid once, when you book. The annual plan is charged when you book and then on each renewal date.
The plan renews automatically each year at the price shown in your account, unless you cancel before the renewal date. If we change the price for your next year, we tell you in advance, at least 30 days before renewal.
4. Your boat and berth
Please give an accurate length, type and berth. If the boat is not at its berth, is out of the water, or cannot be reached safely on the scheduled day, we will reschedule the visit (for an annual plan, within the plan year). If we cannot reach the boat on two consecutive attempts through no fault of ours, that visit counts as made. If the boat is much longer than booked, we may ask you to move to the correct price before the next visit.
5. Rescheduling and weather
We may move a visit for weather, sea state, marina rules or crew safety. The new date is always shown in your account.
If a date no longer suits you, use Ask for another date next to the cleaning in your account and we will confirm a new date with you. Please ask at least two working days before the visit; later requests may not be possible to meet. If you cannot use your account, write to hello@cleanboat.pt.
6. Hull films and findings
Films and notes record what the operator could see during the cleaning. They are not a marine survey, and they do not replace a survey, haul-out inspection or professional advice about repairs.
7. The club
Club events are open to owners with an active annual plan, and to their guests where an event allows it. Events are announced on the club page and in your account, where you reply. Events may change or be cancelled; any change is shown in your account. Please follow venue and marina rules at every event.
8. Reviews
Owners may publish a review after their first cleaning. We check reviews before publishing them and may decline ones that are abusive, off-topic or contain personal data. We never edit what you wrote.
9. Cancellation
You can cancel the renewal of an annual plan at any time from your account. A single cleaning does not renew. Your right to withdraw, how to move or cancel a single cleaning, and our refund terms are set out in the cancellation and refund policy.
10. Liability
We take care of your boat as a professional service would. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law. Otherwise, our liability is limited to the price you paid for the single cleaning or, for an annual plan, for that plan year, and we are not liable for losses that were not foreseeable.
11. Business customers
If you book for a company, charter operator, club or other organisation, you confirm you may do so and the contract is with that organisation. Rights that the law gives only to consumers apply only to consumers.
12. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of Portugal. If you are a consumer, you can also rely on the mandatory consumer protections of the country where you live, and you may use the Portuguese consumer arbitration centres or the courts of your residence.
